Is honey good for you? A shock study denies this
Is honey good for you? Starting from Dr. Robert H. Lustig , famous pediatrician and endocrinologist who conducted a conference entitled “Sugar, the bitter truth”, up to Dr. Berrino in Italy, an epidemiologist often consulted on proper nutrition, c ‘It was an incredible campaign against glucose-fructose syrup , contained in many industrial products: obesogenic, it would promote diabetes and cholesterol, above all it would result, said many experts including Dr. Hyman, toxic to the liver. This is because it lacks the vitamins and fibers that make natural sugars safer for health. And therefore, without exaggerating, Lustig first suggested at the end of the conference to use only natural sugars, such as honey, cane syrup, and the sugar resources naturally contained in fruit. Anyone like me who prefers a natural diet obviously couldn’t help but applaud the choice of natural sugars (to be used daily) instead of the terrible white sugar. In fact, I say this to dispel any doubts, I use honey and coconut palm sugar most of the time (when I sugar something), but if white sugar enters my house to cook some desserts I don’t make a tragedy.
In short, the research is fine but I had accepted the advice of these doctors without taking them too literally.
This especially after reading interesting, albeit independent, research written by people who were not doctors, and therefore could simply limit themselves to expressing their point of view, to presenting theories. One of them is Joey Lott, who doubted that Lustig exaggerated the extent of the negative effects of glucose-fructose syrup.. The reason for Lott was simple: sugar is sugar. Glucose-fructose syrup is highly digestible, and if one does not abuse it, avoiding buying too many industrial products for example, one does not see what the problem is. A drug? Let’s not exaggerate, evidently these gentlemen have never used hard drugs. Is it bad for your metabolism? But if your metabolism needs sugar! Try a sugar-free diet and after a month you will feel drained and depressed, not to mention the build-up of stress.
