Intuitive eating does NOT make you lose weight

After it has become the big trend in the United States and Europe, in Italy too recently we talk about intuitive eating , something I tried for about two years on my skin, documenting myself a lot thanks to the books and articles of “intuitive eaters ”guru, so that when I hear about it now in Italy I put my hands in my hair a bit. If you have heard of intuitive eating as something that will allow you to eat when you want, how you want and stay lean “by listening to your body”, then forget it.
In fact, intuitive eating is NOT a diet in any way:every time you try to intuitive eating by eating healthy, avoiding what you consider crap or acting a lot on the sense of satiety, you are not doing true intuitive eating. The concept behind intuitive eating is simple: you have to give a damn.

To be clear: you have to go back to eating like when you were three years old (for those who started the first diet at four or five years old) or in any case like when you were a child. Children do not distinguish real food from false food, eating their fill, they throw a tantrum behind the foods they want, sometimes they eat to the point of being sick.
If you don’t like the example of children because they are now too far away from you, think of animals or the long-time skinny friend / friend who has never dieted in her life.

Intuitive eating is not a tool for losing weight: on the contrary, in all likelihood we tend to gain weight, because our weight set point, that is the famous weight behind which the body tends to stabilize, is always a little higher than it is. we imagine it, most of the time.
Intuitive eating means not giving a damn about food, treating food like air: when we get up we notice how many times we breathe or the quality of the air, I mean as a rule? No. Here, think the same with food. You get out of bed and in the following hours you will eat whatever you want, even if it’s just cake.

This is intuitive eating: totally caring about it.
Of weight, calories, portions, scales: we shouldn’t stress too much trying to pick up the messages of our body, with the secret intention of controlling it. Intuitive eating means letting nature, and therefore our body, do it literally, without any form of mental or sensorial manipulation.
It doesn’t work for weight loss simply because it doesn’t have to work. It is not a diet, it is a way to get out of diets forever. Caroline Dooner, expert in instinctive nutrition and author of the book “The fu% k it diet” (you will have understood in the place of which letter I put the percentage symbol), explains these concepts in many articles.
