I need to lose weight but …
I know a lot of people who spend a fortune on the weight loss pill, sauna-effect shorts and slimming cream, beautician treatment or gym membership (who won’t go after the first two or three times), and who every time I hear them they start with the same, identical, immutable phrase: “I have to lose weight, but…” And that’s where the apologies begin. The most common are:
– I have to lose weight but I never have time for the gym (and when you say they might start walking stairs they get angry
– I have to lose weight but I don’t have the head right now to go on a diet (it’s not never the right time, though)
– I have to lose weight but who can count calories (and any alternative way you explain is not good anyway)
– I have to lose weight but it costs too much money (no, eating healthy does not cost too much money, it is also an investment in health)
– I have to lose weight but my girlfriend / husband likes me so much (not true, alas).
The answer to all these “I have to lose weight but …” is not “I understand you, I’m sorry” , but “these are all excuses, the truth is that you don’t want to”.
If you recognize yourself, wake up. It is not true that you have a particular metabolism, that you do not have time for gymnastics, when you are always on fb, that you do not have time to cook better (there are also vegetables in bags) or you do not have money (legumes, seasonal vegetables and tuna canned natural or eggs do not seem to me this burden. And now even supermarkets offer branded wholemeal pasta and rice made by renowned pasta factories (see Carrefour, Coop, etc.). The only truth is that those who do not lose weight do not feel like it . It is not a human case, but he portrays himself as such out of laziness .

Generally when I talk about the work I do they point out that I am in fact in shape and they treat me like someone who has been blessed with luck.: no matter how many hours (that’s a lot of hours) I work and how broke I am (it’s not that newspapers and collaborators pay …), according to them I always have more time than them to exercise, eat better, cook better, choose what to eat, count calories. Or they think he has a superfast metabolism . The reality is that I combine my three thousand commitments like everyone else, I finish working late at night, I cook and do the services like every person on this earth who has a roof over his head, I have a husband and therefore I don’t cook just for myself or for my whim. But apart from my case, you will have noticed that I often talk about people who have lost a lot of kilos and:
– they were in serious physical condition
– they did not sail in gold
– they also had 3 or 4 children and were often single
– they didn’t have time
– they were depressed and they always were (but meanwhile they continued to gain weight)
– as obese, they did not have a fast metabolism.
Of course, there is no judge apart from you. Nobody judges you, I’m just the last person in the world who judges others for their size. Before getting married, I was engaged to people who were obviously overweight. I have overweight friends. If they want my opinion I tell them but they are fine for me if they feel well. The point is to complain and do nothing, giving the responsibility to others who are not us and feeling almost doomed to the extra pounds.
Ask yourself, why those people, with kids, work, little money and little time, depression and health problems including slow metabolism they made it and you didn’t?
