There are no certainties but it seems that the Hungarian Hound arrived in Hungary in the 9th century together with the Magyar tribes from the Asian steppes. Immediately employed as a hunting dog, he has become a worthy companion of noble clans over the centuries.
However, it was only in the mid-1900s that he was recognized by the International Dog Federation .

The adult weight is around 30 kg s and male, 25 kg if female , is of medium size, with a height at the withers of about 60, 64 cm. This connotes its graceful, muscular and elegant appearance.

The Hungarian Bracco is a smart and alert dog , ready for action. It has a mild and docile character, very affectionate especially towards its owner and the relative family context.
It requires constant physical contact, social interaction . Its intelligence and sweetness make it a breed suitable for training in pet therapy , with rewarding and non-coercive methods.
By nature he goes in search of spaces to run and release his innate energy , because otherwise he can be led to destructiveness, especially if left alone as well as inactive. He is not a dog that barks often , he does it only out of necessity.

As with all dogs it is important to respect a balanced and quality diet to preserve their health, bone mineralization and the shine of the coat.
Depending on the degree of activity of the dog and the season , a more or less protein diet will be chosen, about 500 grams per day. Always advisable to divide into two daily meals to facilitate digestion.
The Bracco Ungherese is a long-lived dog , (it can reach 15 years), and can be subject to some pathologies:
