The folding smartphone market begins to make its way with the first models placed on the market. After Motorola Razr and Samsung Z Flip , both with a clamshell closure, Huawei offers its first folding device which will be called Mate Xs , a revised and corrected version of the Mate X presented last year. The price of these devices turns out to be, unfortunately, really prohibitive for many; although a precise launch window has not yet been communicated, we know that the list cost of this first folding smartphone from Huawei will be € 2,599. Now let’s find out in detail the characteristics of this Mate Xs:

Features certainly top of the range, but what passes most under the magnifying glass is precisely the display. The OLED panel , according to Huawei, is a flexible screen assisted by a two-layer polymer structure joined by a transparent adhesive. This implementation allows you to increase the resistance without affecting the brightness or saturation of the screen. Finally, the reinforced hinge is equipped with 100 interlocking components and was made with a liquid metal based on zirconium.

At the heart of the phone we find the latest Kirin 990 5G SoC , a chip equipped with a 7nm octa core CPU and a Mali-G76 MP16 GPU . The 8GB RAM of  memory and 512GB of storage, further expandable with the NM Cards made by Huawei complete the hardware sector. Equipped with 4 sensors , Mate Xs is practically perfect for any type of use. The first, main, from 40 MegaPixel with optics with opening f / 1.8, the second, a wide angle from 16 MegaPixel (f / 2.2), an 8 MegaPixel stabilized telephoto (f / 2.4) and a sensor ToF for depth data collection. It also features a 30x hybrid zoom and a maximum ISO of 204,800 . Powered by a powerful 4,500 mAh battery , which can be quickly recharged with the 55W SuperCharge charger, it is finally equipped with the latest 5G connection technology . There will also be a Dual-SIM slot that can be used in 5G + 4G mode. The phone will run on the Android 10 operating system with EMUI 10.0.1 interface . , however, the Google certification will not be present as already happens with the latest devices of the company.
