How to use WhatsApp on iPad Mini without Jailbreak
Although there is still no official version of WhatsApp for iPad, we recently saw how to use the application on tablets. However, several users have sent an email to WhatsappMania to ask for a more specific explanation: how to use WhatsApp on iPad Mini?
Indeed, the procedure involves a step that may escape the less experienced. For this I have published this specific guide for iPad Mini. The procedure is simple. Just a few clicks and no download is required.
Explaining in general how to use WhatsApp on tablets , we have seen that one of the quickest methods is to use WhatsApp Web , the browser version of the application. The steps are simple. Just open the web.whatsapp.com address , scan the QR code from WhatsApp and synchronize your tablet with your smartphone.
However, many users have encountered a difficulty: after typing the web.whatsapp.com address, rather than reaching the page with the QR code, they are redirected to the home page of the official WhatsApp blog.
This prevents you from installing WhatsApp on iPad, which is why this guide was born 🙂
The problem lies in the fact that whoever designed the site made sure that when you access web.whatsapp.it from your tablet you are redirected to a different page. There is a solution:
Using WhatsApp on iPad Mini: guide
The first step is to make sure we have updated the operating system of our iPad Mini to the latest version available (we’ll see why this is so important soon). To update, go to Settings -> General -> Software Update . A screen will appear that will tell you if your iPad is up to date or, if not, you will see the “Download and install” button.
At this point, open Safari and type the web.whatsapp.com address .
As anticipated, the page we are looking for will not open, but you will be redirected to the whatsapp.com home page.
(update below)
No problem:
– Click on the address in the bar and scroll through the box that appears (as shown in this image below).
– Click on Request desktop site and the WhatsApp Web page will open.
Now you just have to scan the QR code and use WhatsApp from iPad. In this way, you will have WhatsApp on your tablet with the identical functions of WhatsApp Web . As you may have understood, the iPad update is essential for the success of the procedure, because it is thanks to the latest update of iOS 8 that the function for requesting the desktop version of a site was introduced.
Update October 2015: how to activate the “request desktop site” function with iOS 9
Many users have updated their iPad to the iOS 9 operating system (which is recommended, in order to make the most of their device) but some of these have happened to “lose sight” of the Request site des ktop function, which is necessary in order to use WhatsApp on tablet.
In fact, things have changed a bit, but it’s nothing complicated.
In fact, if before it was necessary to click on the url of the site and scroll the drop-down menu, now just click at length on update (point 1 of the photo below) and the bar will open that allows you to switch to the version of the site for pc.
The example pictured here is taken from an iPhone, but the operation is the same for the iPad 🙂
