Facebook has tons of features, but its Messenger chat application doesn’t have some features that would be really useful, like the direct sharing option. You can actually do it easily with  a couple of quick taps  .

How to forward a video from Facebook Messenger to WhatsApp

Unfortunately, as I said before, there is no simple  “Share on WhatsApp” button next to the Facebook videos you find on the Facebook feed or in your Messenger messages.

So how do you go about it?

You must first  add a video to your  “Saved Videos”  , then go to saved items, copy the link and share it through WhatsApp .

While it might sound a little complicated, trust me, it’s not.

No matter what device you use, sharing your favorite videos on WhatsApp is easy when you follow the right steps.

Let’s go into detail.

Android and iOS devices

The steps for Android and iOS may vary slightly depending on your device model, but the directions you find here are fine for everything.

Let’s say you are already logged into your Facebook account and Messenger is installed on your phone.

Your friend now sends you a funny video that makes you laugh out loud. Want to share this video on WhatsApp.

Here’s how to do it (also applies to the videos you find on the bulletin board):

1. Click on the three dots next to the name of whoever shared the video
2. Click on  “Save video”
3. Open the Facebook app
4. Press the menu button and select  “saved items”
5.  Locate the video you just saved and click on the three dots
6. Select and copy the link

Now there are only four more steps to take:

1. Open WhatsApp
2. Open the chat where you want to share the video
3. Paste the link as normal text
4. Send the message

Now your friends on WhatsApp can laugh watching the video too.

On computer

To forward videos from Messenger to WhatsApp, obviously you need to have the Windows or Mac app installed on your computer.

Then, do the following:

1. Log into your Facebook account in a new tab. Once logged in, browse your videos.
2. Click the play icon of the video of interest.
3. Copy the link to the URL bar.
4. Log in to WhatsApp on your computer.
5. Copy and paste the link in the chat where you want to share the video.

And now you are done! You shared a Facebook video via WhatsApp.
