How to permanently delete a Whatsapp account
Are you tired of receiving messages on WhatsApp and want to remove the application once and for all? In this guide, I’ll explain how to permanently delete the WhatsApp account and say goodbye to notifications.
How to delete the WhatsApp account
- Open WhatsApp and go to Settings .
- On iOS (iPhone), the settings are located at the bottom right of the main application screen.
- On Android, tap the three dots at the top right of the main screen, and click Settings.
- On Windows Phone, click on More (three horizontal dots) and then on Settings.
- Go to Account .
- Click on Delete Account .
- Enter your phone number and click on Delete account .
With these steps your WhatsApp account will be permanently deleted, whether you use WhatsApp on iPhone, Android, Windows Phone or other devices. All WhatsApp data will be removed from your phone and if you have made a backup of the WhatsApp data, that will be deleted as well.
NB Attention, this function is not needed if you want to change number or telephone. If you want to know what to do in order not to lose conversations in the event of a phone change, read this article .
If after deleting your account you try to create a new one with the old number , none of the old data will be restored. All old groups, chat messages and so on are deleted forever.
Want to know what exactly happens when you cancel an account? We talked about it here: If I delete WhatsApp, what happens?
I remind you to conclude that to delete WhatsApp you must follow the procedure described above, it is not enough to delete the app from the phone.
