Don’t panic! Doctor Maria Papavasileiou takes care of it, dietician and nutritionist from Milan, considered the most famous on the web, the one who has followed countless people, distributed food advice and encouraged even the most lazy and sedentary patients to a healthy and active lifestyle.
Today on Dcomedieta we host your precious advice on how to eliminate cellulite.
What is cellulite and what are its causes.
Cellulite is the deposit of water and fat that forms between the skin and the subcutaneous tissue. We find it in specific parts of the body where we have blood circulation and swelling of the lipocytes. Here the connective tissue loses its elasticity and the skin has the distinctive orange peel appearance.
Cellulite affects most women regardless of their weight, obviously, local fat accumulation favors the aggravation or appearance of cellulite. High levels of the female hormone, estrogen, cause water retention, which affects the permeability of blood vessels. This is the reason why cellulite is more evident before the arrival of the menstrual cycle and this fact explains why cellulite does not appear on men.
How to get rid of cellulite.
The ideal diet should always be varied and personalized. Caloric deprivation is practically useless and this is because the quality of food is more important than the quantity we consume. Our goal is to stabilize the ideal body weight and have a healthy diet.
Lack of physical activity greatly increases the chance of having cellulite. Cellulite is not always related to body weight, so even if we lose weight, cellulite will be there waiting for us.
DETOX TO PURIFY THE BODY AND ELIMINATE CELLULITE.
- Purifying the body means expelling excess toxins, eliminating some foods that are harmful to our body such as the abuse of salt and sugar, smoking, alcohol, preferring a diet based on fruit, vegetables and above all a lot of water.
- Hydrating the body is essential, water is the most important element in a true Detox diet .
Hydration is the shield of our cells, able to protect us against the aging process. The more our cells are dehydrated, the more wrinkles and water retention will be created . Water removes water-soluble toxins and for this we must drink at least 8/10 glasses a day. - An excellent remedy to purify ourselves is to drink at least 500ml of water every morning, half an hour before breakfast to start the intestines.
- Pay attention to your diet and choose foods and cooking methods that help the body detoxify.
Strictly avoid frying, moderate or avoid the consumption of red meat, eat lots of fresh and raw vegetables. If you prefer cooked vegetables, steam them in order to preserve almost all the nutrients such as vitamins, minerals and the numerous antioxidants that we can find in vegetables. - Never forget to use extra virgin olive oil.
Eliminating fats completely, contrary to what one might think, does not help the fight against cellulite but rather makes the health of our organism worsen. Extra virgin olive oil contains many antioxidants which are essential for our health and for the activation of our metabolism and for a natural detoxifying effect.
MORE SPORT, LESS STRESS TO ELIMINATE CELLULITE.
Physical activity plays a very important role in the fight against the much hated cellulite.
Playing sports is useful not only for keeping the skin well toned and activating the muscles, it is useful for reactivating circulation.
- Follow an aerobic physical activity program of at least 30 minutes a day. Even a simple brisk walk may be enough. If you have a little more time to spare, I would recommend activities such as swimming, cycling, aerobics or treadmills .
