In Horizon Forbidden West there are obviously several challenges and problems to be solved that the game will put you in front of at every corner: one of these that will certainly not go unnoticed is precisely the Mechanical Batosta, a difficult and impervious challenge for all players .
Once you understand the nature of the modality you are about to face, however, things could become much simpler: before embarking on this adventure if you missed our review we invite you to read it here , now let’s get to the core!
Before talking specifically about Batosta, know that there are six different types of terrain on which challenges take place and each type of terrain gives bonuses to the machines that trample them:
- Precipice : -2 Power
- Swamp Terrain : -1 Power
- Lawn Terrain : 0 to Power
- Forest Terrain : +1 Power
- Hill terrain : +2 Power
- Mountain terrain : +3 Power
If you choose the right terrain on which to place your machines, you will have a tactical advantage over the opponent . When you feel at a disadvantage, be aware that if your opponent attacks you first he is almost always in a weaker position than yours.
In fact, during our game we noticed that the best way to solve a Mechanical Knockout challenge in Horizon Forbidden West is to provoke the game’s artificial intelligence , forcing it to attack you to take full advantage of the highest terrain on the map (there are eight for each challenge as number of squares).
Type of spots present in Mechanical Drilling within Horizon Forbidden West
- Melee : Always attack the first car in range.
- Assault : Attacks the first car in range and pushes it back, then moves to the square where the opponent was.
- Swoop : Attack the first car in range, move to adjacent terrain next to it, and gain +1 power on whatever terrain it is; can ignore the penalties due to the terrain.
- Shot : Always attacks at the maximum of its long range.
- Sprint : Moves at full speed, overwhelming and damaging every car it encounters, allies included, and rotates the position of hit cars 180 degrees. To attack, he needs free ground at the end of his run.
- Grapple : Grabs an enemy in range and brings them in front of you. Get +1 to power if it is on a Swamp and does not suffer movement penalties if it crosses one.
