Home diet: does it work for weight loss?
In recent years, even in Italy as in the rest of the world, the first home diet services for those who want to lose weight have begun to be seen. No more substitute meals such as shakes and soups, but real plans to customize in order to lose weight without worrying about cooking at home, which arrive at your home.
Generally it is enough to heat them or add water to the products to have meals that, in the simplest version, cover breakfast, lunch and dinner. But in other versions, they also include snacks, always depending on the customer’s tastes.
The menu offers, which can be daily, weekly or even monthly, are differentiated according to the customer’s eating habits. If you are a vegetarian, if you have particular intolerances, if you prefer to eat Mediterranean, etc. In fact, when ordering, a form is generally filled in, a form in which the request for meals at home is personalized.
One of the first services to have established itself in Italy, opening more than one point of sale was Diet-to-go, which I have already told you about in this article.
But let’s start from the beginning: does the home diet work for weight loss?
As in the case of meal replacements, the first limitation of the method is what I would define “the trap of ready meals”.
You have someone who thinks about your diet, but after you’ve lost weight, and for the rest of your life, how are you going to stop being a customer and become more aware of your diet?
From this point of view, a dietician or nutritionist can undoubtedly be more helpful to you, and, in the case of the dietician, nutrition is always set on the basis of the patient’s history (who is therefore never just a customer). In these cases, however, the risk is to become a “customer for life”.
This is because the upstream problem of those who get fat is that they do not know how to manage themselves in nutrition every day, and if they do not learn how to eat a balanced diet and have a healthier lifestyle, they will always be a slave to easy solutions to try to lose weight. , without knowing how proper nutrition works.
The other major limitation of the method is the price: home diet services have a cost that cannot be faced by many people, with prices ranging from 20/30 euros per day to 200 euros per week.
Finally, although the home diet focuses on the quality and authenticity of meals, there are few that can offer fresh food (and maybe only in some areas).
Mostly we talk about “dry”, vacuum-packed or similar products.
On page two we see some of the home diet services, among the most popular and emerging.
