During the important event held tonight of the  DICE Awards 2016, Hideo Kojima gave an interview to IGN where he expressed his opinion and his expectations on  virtual reality, and also had the opportunity to talk about his personal experience. Find below an excerpt:

“ I’ve always been interested in virtual reality. It has been talked about for 20 years and finally viewers are starting to enter our everyday lives. A few years ago I had the opportunity to try a dev kit and to tell the truth my experience was not that great given my being afflicted by motion sickness (“transport sickness” ed).

However, I recently had the opportunity to test the final versions of these devices and with great satisfaction I must admit that technology has made great strides in this field . “

Kojima then admitted that despite the initial skepticism, as technology advances he hopes that in the future we can work on a project for the viewers. The developer also expressed his hope that over time the size and weight of the devices will decrease , in order to make them simple glasses to wear. Specifically, the game that Hideo  Kojima would like to work on would be a horror experience , given his passion for the genre, obviously something totally innovative, and given what we had seen with PT we really just have to hope for the best.
