As you all surely know, Oculus VR , in addition to the presentation of the well-known virtual reality viewer, had also presented Oculus Touch , a controller that was supposed to improve and intensify the  user’s virtual reality experience. Not long ago, however, the company, without going into too many explanations, had decided to postpone the official release date .
Although one could think that the reason for this postponement was linked to a technical problem with the peripheral, the truth that emerged is another and, to explain the reason, is Jason Rubin, Head of Content of Oculus VR , who, during an interview with RoadtoVR , said:
It was possible to cast Touch when we first showed it. Everyone had spoken positively about it. If we had launched the Touch controllers with the headset we would have only had a handful of demos and a few good quality titles like Job Simulator and Fantastic Conraption. We wanted to give the developers enough time to create a good launch line-up, a good series of titles that guaranteed hours and not minutes of fun, and we thought it was time-consuming. Rather than fine-tuning the hardware, we decided to give the software more time.
It therefore seems that the decision to postpone Oculus Touch to the end of 2016 was a strategic move aimed at creating better optimized software and video games . So we just have to wait to try out the potential of this peripheral.
