Healthy diet, isn’t it always good for you?
Healthy diet and healthy eating: what do they mean? If we were to find the commonalities between the many diets that are proposed to us, probably “eating vegetables” and “drinking water” would be the only things present everywhere. This would already be enough to make us understand how the healthy diet is a concept much much more evanescent than what is believed.: animal protein sources are rich in other nutrients, namely vitamins and minerals, so eliminating them without criteria may not be a good idea; eggs do not cause cholesterol; the gluten-free diet is less protein than the traditional diet, and does not lead to weight loss, on the contrary: in some cases there are those who gain weight; fats are not harmful to health, and even saturated fats are not to be demonized; even the sugar should not be completely eliminated, in order not to cause stress to our body. And then, integral: yes or no? Some tolerate it, others definitely make a big mistake in insisting on wholemeal if it causes swollen stomachs and intestinal irritability, or constipation; in that case we might as well reduce pasta, rice and bread but choose them white. In short,a healthy diet is subjective, and it must never be a diktat we apply to our life . Otherwise we risk doing a lot worse for our health, as in the case of British presenter  Carrie Armstrong . Here’s what happened to her.
