The Flat Belly diet is a diet I have already talked about as it is very famous; developed by nutritionists Liz Vaccariello (who collaborates with Dr. Oz) and Cynthia Sass, it is a lightning regimen that consists of two phases.

– 4 days of detox phase of about 1200 calories which must be repeated every following Saturday and Sunday. 

– a dietary phase that can last a maximum of 20 days (four weeks, actually) at 1600 calories, from Monday to Friday.

The weight that can be lost following this fast regimen is 7 kilos maximum in 2 weeks and up to 10-12 kilos in one month.
Thus in the first two weeks there is the greatest weight loss.

When we read about these quick diets that make you lose a lot of weight, we always ask ourselves: but will they make me lose so much weight or not?

Here, it depends on our initial conditions .
If we go on a diet for the first time in our life and start with a significant excess weight, for example 25 or 35 kilos, we are more likely to lose 12 kilos per month or 7 kilos in two weeks on the flat stomach diet. In other cases, we are more likely to lose 2 kilos per week, so around 6-7 kilos per month. Which is already a lot.

So remember: the number of diets you do in your life usually affects the estimated weight loss we will have in subsequent diets. This is because our metabolism and body composition have changed from previous diets, especially if done recently (less than a year). So much so that some scientists have developed an algorithm to understand how much a diet will be more or less effective in an untrained subject, from initial starting conditions including these that I have told you.

There are perfect moments to do the flat stomach diet: for example in January, or after weeks of celebration or social commitments in which we have definitely eaten too much, after Christmas or Easter; or in the summer before going on vacation. In this case, if the diet follows a period in which we ate a lot, it will make us lose weight more.

This diet, unlike the others, starts on Thursdays, not Mondays’.

In the first 4 days, starting from Thursday, we say goodbye to sugar of all kinds (apart from stevia), bread, pasta, rice, all industrially processed foods. You only have 3 meals of 400 calories each, 4 hours apart.
