FRUIT AND VEGETABLES THAT MAKE YOU LOSE LONGER
1) A serving of blueberries a day (or other red fruits: raspberries and currants are fine too) led study participants to lose more weight over 4 years than the rest of the sample.
2) A portion of legumes or crucifers several times a week helps to further reduce your waistline.
3) A daily portion of green leafy vegetables promotes weight loss.
4) Other fruit with a strong slimming effect according to the researchers: apples and pears, grapes and strawberries.
On the contrary: a higher consumption of corn, potatoes and peas (often in side dishes) has led some people to gain weight, again according to the same study. The reason is simple. Starchy vegetables must replace complex carbohydrates: if, for example, I eat potato salad or a side of peas with the steak, I must remember NOT to eat bread, nor the first course of pasta or rice. And that I still HAVE to eat my portion of vegetables, preferably BEFORE the main course. In fact, there is still a strong tendency to consider sweet corn, peas and potatoes as part of our daily vegetable ration. Instead, their starchy nature is useful in reducing the consumption of complex carbohydrates such as pasta and baked goods.
