Five reasons to eat almonds
Almonds have been experiencing a period of great popularity for a couple of years: recommended by chefs of the caliber of Pete Evans, often considered a great ally and the favorite snack of those who follow low-carb diets, by followers of the Paleodieta, of natural nutrition. and of the ketogenic diet in all its variations, almonds are known for their satiating and fat-burning properties.
Here are five reasons to prefer them to other seeds.
FIVE REASONS TO EAT ALMONDS
1) They contain omega6 and 3 polyunsaturated fats, and omega9 monounsaturated fats: now, it is good to remember not to exceed in these fats, but to choose carefully our sources of polyunsaturated fats. Almonds are a good compromise, because they contain both omega6 and 3 and also monounsaturated fats. They have a normalizing effect on blood sugar and keep bad cholesterol at bay.Â
2) Reduce abdominal fat:Â the synergy between proteins and fats in almonds helps prevent weight accumulation, especially in the abdominal area.Â
3) They give you good fibers:almonds should be eaten with the skin, which contains precious fibers for our intestine. If you discard the peel because you don’t like it, I recommend that you crumble it finely with the help of a mixer and use it (without keeping it for long, though) together with chopped herbs and spices in the breadcrumbs, reducing the load of breadcrumbs.Â
4) They are nutritious: almonds contain magnesium and vitamin E. This last vitamin is very important for its antioxidant action and has often been the focus of studies that have reiterated its importance. Magnesium is indicated for those who train, making almonds a perfect pre-work-out snack.Â
5) They are a healthy snack (and perhaps less calorie than we think):it seems that our body does not assimilate all the calories from almonds, but about 75 percent, as explained by this researcher. And yet, they remain caloric, yet healthy and nutritious. Let’s eat them in moderation, for example up to 10. Or use almond flour for these low glycemic index pancakes: here ‘s the recipe!
