Fed up, the investigative film on junk food
Fed Up is the documentary that made America tremble. An investigative film on the danger of a sugar-filled diet and hoarding of junk food by the average American, directed, written and produced by Stephanie Soechtig.
FED UP: THE FILM ABOUT Junk FOOD THAT IS NOT JUST FAST FOOD
The big difference from other documentaries is that, in Fed-Up, companies that produce ready-made food or baked goods, drinks, ice cream and everything ready to eat are targeted more than fast food restaurants.
Apparently these products are just as much junk food as fast food ones: rich in additives, fats and sugars. Foods that are more and more caloric but paradoxically not very nutritious thus invade our shelves.
It would be enough to read the nutritional values and the ingredients list of these products to realize this.
Examples cited in the documentary include baby cereals and soft drinks.
However, the alarm recently also involves those who are not obese, but an unhealthy diet, based on ready meals, does the same.
As research suggests, even the skinny person who eats junk food, while not converting it into fat, is likely to end up with the same health problems as a severely obese person.
So let’s hope for an investigative film also in Italy, which finally reveals how the average Italian has moved away from a Mediterranean diet to a westernized, standard and unhealthy diet.
