Fatty foods, do they really lose weight? And how much fat to eat?

I was amazed by the statement of dr. Mosley, one of the two inventors of the intermittent fasting diet (or fast diet or 5: 2 diet), who claimed to have high cholesterol , but didn’t worry about it because even though he had an increase in blood cholesterol following a more protein and fatter diet, the important thing is that it did not also have high triglycerides , I don’t know if you understand. Told by someone who has developed a diet, and that despite being thin he has those love handles that make me think that the only jump he makes is that of a meal every now and then, but he doesn’t move, it seems to me a perfect and ridiculous own goal. On the other hand, his other predecessors who bet on wrong diets have not made a good end: there are those who died of a heart attack.
Still, there is a lot of talk about fats in the diet . Dietary fats have just become fashionable by now.

If you eat a few mistakes because it slows down your metabolism and inhibits the absorption of some vitamins , so it’s best NOT to demonize them.
On the other hand, if it is true that the combination of fats + sugars is the one that makes you fat, eating more fat not only does not make you fat, but could even make you lose weight, and not bad for cholesterol, if as Mosley says we do not have high triglycerides. These simplifications risk doing us more harm than good. According to the latest research, some unsaturated fats in the diet increase the chances of losing weight : avocado, oilseeds, vegetable oils. Too bad they are also very caloric: one thing is not to deprive yourself of them, therefore, another is to gorge on fatty foods, even if they contain good fats.
In the diet, experts advise not to exceed a quota ranging from 20 to 35% of fats , mainly of vegetable origin  or coming from fish.
Beyond this quota I would not go, and I would not follow the example of dr. Mosley: Sure, there are those who say they eat a lot more fat in their diet, like this former athlete . But I have experienced what it means to increase excess fat in your diet and nothing, in my experience if you keep carbohydrates you will get fat .
If you are a former champion who is all muscle with a great metabolism maybe not, but normal people who exceed the 35% quota of fatty foods without being on a ketogenic diet get fat.
