Fasting to lose weight, pros and cons
Lately there is nothing but talk of intermittent fasting but also of fasting diet or controlled fasting to lose weight. For those interested, I’ve written a lot on the subject: from the benefits of the Fast diet to the types of intermittent fasting like the Warrior diet to the modified assisted fasting diet .
Let’s find out according to doctors what are the advantages of fasting, if it actually makes you lose weight (for those who feel it) and improves metabolism, the immune defenses, digestion. Without a doubt, fasting makes you lose weight in the first half, for example, and we are talking about several kilos, which however are not all of fat mass, on the contrary, they are mostly water and lean mass. Among the fasts popularized by diets beyond the Fast diet are:
– 24-hour fasting for two consecutive days a week
– 16-hour fasting ( or eight-hour diet )
ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES OF FASTING FOR LOSS DISADVANTAGES
:
1) For it to work you must not overeat after the fasting period
2) You must have a strong discipline and a strong sense of control in order not to start suffering from hunger pangs or some eating disorder, a typical risk of fasting.
4) There are health risks: even if it is the doctor who advises you to fast, the side effects are certainly there : from sugar drops to fainting to kidney problems.
5) It could be a strong stress for the organism (with all that follows)
Advantages:
1) With the forms of intermittent fasting such as warrior fasting or fasting of sixteen hours and adequate training you lose fat mass
2) With the intermittent 24 hour fasting or fast 5/2 or other intermittent forms the metabolism does not slow down, on the contrary, it increases.
3) Fasting has an incredible detox effect and allows you to lose a lot of weight in a short time
4) If you master fasting well, in addition to the detox effect you will notice better concentration and more energy after the first 24 hours.
