Fast weight loss with the millet diet
The millet diet is a seven day fast weight loss diet, which is then repeated once a month to maintain results. The name derives from the fact that during these 7 days you can only eat millet (or alternatively quinoa or buckwheat) as a source of complex carbohydrates. Millet and its alternatives are in fact pseudocereals, have a low glycemic index but are not real cereals as well as having no gluten.
The secret of the millet diet is to be short but effective . In fact, weight is lost thanks to the combined action of fiber and low glycemic load meals. It is also the ideal diet if you eat out and have little time to cook.
HOW TO DO THE 7-DAY MILE DIET FOR FAST LOSS
First, only one of these pseudocereals is chosen: millet, buckwheat or quinoa.
The choice will depend not only on our taste, but also on our digestive abilities and our health problems. So before starting the diet I recommend that you test them in rotation and see which one you prefer to eat and which one does not bother you. It will also be useful to know the properties of millet and the other two pseudocereals to understand which of these is right for you.
- Choose millet if your blood sugar is a bit high and you want to purify yourself.
- Buckwheat if your problem is high cholesterol and if you suffer from cellulite and water retention.
- Quinoa if you suffer from low energy and physical and mental fatigue, slow metabolism.
Make basic porridge
- Now that you have chosen your pseudo-cereal, soak 300 grams of it half an hour before cooking it, and do it the day before the diet, therefore on Sunday if you start on Monday. You will repeat the same thing on Wednesday night. Drain the millet or the variant, rinse it several times under cold water, if you choose millet or quinoa it is better to use a colander or sieve and not the colander. Cook it in 1 liter of boiling water for 20 minutes and then drain it well. The seeds must be well cooked and soft. Add a level teaspoon of oil or coconut oil and a barely pinch of salt, divide the mixture into 3 precise parts and put it in 3 resealable containers to keep in the fridge.
- During the day, from Monday to Wednesday, you will be able to consume one of these containers per day divided into the three main meals.
- So for breakfast, lunch and dinner you will eat about a third of the cereal from a container per meal.
- On the second day you will use the second container and so on.
- On Wednesday evening, repeat the operation for the days Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
I advise you to use MCT oil to flavor the cereal, to support the metabolism instead of olive oil, especially if you suffer from constipation and prefer a neutral flavor since you will also eat porridge for breakfast.
