Eight foods you shouldn’t give up to lose weight

According to dietician Geraldine Georgeou, many disposable diets and some wrong dietary beliefs are making us lose sight of some precious foods, or superfoods, which should never be missing from our table: here are what they are and why we should not give them up.
EIGHT FOODS YOU DON’T NEED TO GIVE UP IF YOU WANT TO STAY IN SHAPE
wine and chocolate1) Whole foods and carbohydrate-based foods:
decreasing the “volume of the diet” with foods low in fiber and low in carbohydrates is a serious mistake. Stress increases, stresses our metabolism, increases nervous hunger and the need for sugar. Furthermore, we absorb more fat. So yes to a diet of whole grains, oat flakes, whole wheat flours. Bread in particular is often demonized in diets, and we agree with white bread. But wholemeal oat or rye bread is the ideal bread for a protein bread and has a medium glycemic index, which is lowered even more if we toast it or if it is from the day before. Did you know! 😀 2) Milk:

it’s okay not to binge on milk, but choosing a thousand alternatives to avoid cow’s milk seems ridiculous. However, it is a protein and calcium-rich food. Whole one has an excellent lipid profile. The important thing is not to abuse it.
3) Red meats: if you are not vegetarian, the consumption of red meats and cured meats must not exceed three hundred grams per week. So you can eat meat, which is one of the best protein alternatives for losing weight, as well as being an important source of iron and B vitamins.
4) Potatoes:they have a high glycemic index, but not one of the highest, and contain potassium and carbohydrates. Eat with vegetables, fats and proteins (potato salad, green beans, natural tuna or mackerel seasoned with a drizzle of olive oil), they are an excellent source of carbohydrates, they are very satiating and if you cook them with the peel they also have a minor glycemic index. The sweet ones have a medium GI. Don’t eliminate them from your diet.
5) Red wine:  antioxidants and polyphenols to fight free radicals and low glycemic index which makes us prefer it to other spirits.
6) Olive oil:cutting back on fats for dieting is a big mistake, especially the so-called good fats. First of all, cold pressed extra virgin olive oil. A panacea for a faster metabolism and an incredible ferry for vitamins and minerals in our body. Just don’t overdo it.
7) Chocolate: who is the madman who deprives himself of chocolate? Well, they exist, and I hope you aren’t one of them. Cocoa or bitter dark chocolate are good for antioxidants, and are also healthy. Other types of chocolate are often pumped with sugar and butter: but even here, a spoonful of gianduia cream or a piece of white chocolate is always better than a snack.
8) Ice cream:ice cream is a protein dessert, although very often loaded with sugar. If you choose fructose, however, the glycemic index is lowered, and in short, from a sin of gluttony it becomes feasible sweet and healthier!
