Eating too much meat like primitive men?

The Paleo diet lovers, but also the carnivores convinced who affirm that “if primitive men lived on meat only then why can’t we?”, Will be living bad days at the news that primitive man ate vegetables too .
In fact, these are things that anyone who has studied evolutionism already knows.

IS IT TRUE THAT PRIMITIVE MEN EAT TOO MUCH MEAT OR ONLY MEAT?

Our distant ancestors, that is the primates, did not immediately dedicate themselves to the so-called big game. Before homo habilis, they were essentially more makeshift jackals than hunters. That is, they ate small prey, occasionally, or broke the bones of carrion to feed on the marrow.

We can talk about big game, with the creation of suitable tools for it, more or less starting from homo Neanderthalensis, that is from Neanderthal man. Which, however, is not our direct descendant, since we are derived from the Sapiens .

They lived in the same era of Neanderthal man for a long time.

It is true, we can say that the human brain has enlarged, with greater encephalization, starting with these species here. And that as long as the primates had a frugivorous diet (also eating insects, tubers, roots), their brains were underdeveloped, up to a third or half of ours.

However, the homo species, even when hunted, did not, and never did, eat only meat.
The introduction of meat can not only be seen as very close to the discovery (not the production) of fire, but must always be seen from the point of view of an omnivorous diet, where the spontaneous harvesting of tubers and fruit is accompanied by predation.

The fact that homo from a certain point onwards was a hunter and not yet a farmer does not mean, according to a recent Spanish research, that he ate only meat, as the cliché states.

Indeed, the homo from the Neanderthal onwards, therefore in the middle of the Paleolithic, also ate wild cereals.
Often these were collected after fires, when it was easier to chew them.

From an examination of the faeces it was in fact established that primitive man ate meat and fish but also fruit, roots, seeds and weeds. So he had a varied diet.
