I have already talked about the book “The intelligent diet” by Dr. Perlmutter, and I am giving a review of the book, translated into Italian and published by Mondadori, in this article here, so I will not repeat myself saying what I think, but I will list ten useful tips. from the book to eliminate wheat and cereals from our diet (and sugar) for a limited period of time, for example it is useful as a short detox regimen, to lose two or three kilos after a period of large meals.
10 TIPS FOR 10 DAYS FROM DOCTOR PERLMUTTER’S SMART DIET
We can use these tricks to eliminate a few pounds quickly, for example following these rules for a week or ten days.
1) Eliminate cereals of all types except those allowed, so no to pasta, bread, whole grains and products with flours for ten days: as carbohydrate resources we can eat potatoes, rice in small portions (half a cup of cooked rice) or pseudocereals such as millet, quinoa and buckwheat or amaranth. Sorghum is also good.
2) Eliminate all types of legumes apart from chickpeas: Dr. Perlmutter recommends them in the form of hummus.
3) Eliminate fruit, apart: avocado, berries, citrus fruits, lemons and limes
4) Eliminate all types of sugar, sweeten only with stevia
5) Eliminate dairy products and milk, apart from a little yogurt or kefir milk or flakes of milk (in moderation)
6) Do a day of fasting:
start these ten detox days with one day of fasting. We can drink water, eat raw vegetables.
7) Follow this meal plan for the remaining nine days:breakfast with coffee or tea, a little milk, buckwheat pudding or chia seeds made by soaking two heaping tablespoons of chia seeds or buckwheat in 150 ml of sugar-free almond or coconut milk, with the addition half a teaspoon of stevia and a handful of blueberries, plus one or two soft-boiled or scrambled eggs. Lunch with a boiled potato or half a cup of rice or a cup of boiled pseudocereals with vegetables stewed in coconut oil and spices to taste, especially turmeric, a small portion of aged cheese. Dinner with fish or meat plus vegetables dressed in coconut oil or butter or lard or olive oil and half an avocado seasoned with oil, vinegar, seeds. Snacks made from walnuts, hazelnuts, almonds, raw carrots, or a yogurt once every two days.
8) Drink a glass of red wine a day and eat extra dark chocolate, around 85% cocoa.
9) Sleep seven hours a night at least

10) Do some physical activity every day, for at least half an hour.
