Dr. Gottfried’s purifying smoothie for the holidays
Dr. Sara Gottfried, author of the book ” The 7 hormones diet “, recommends this purifying but super tasty smoothie to drink instead of breakfast during the holidays, but also afterwards.
What are its properties? Cocoa and mint, but also its protein content, satiate for hours, reducing the hunger for sweets and clearing up the gut of the food.
Here is a revisited recipe (the original one contains two Gottfried products, you can consult it here ).
DR. GOTTFRIED’S PURIFYING SMOOTHIE
- 1 scoop of chocolate protein powder or 170g fage skimmed Greek yogurt
- a glass of vegetable milk with coconut or almonds such as alpro light (250ml) or skim milk
- a handful of fresh mint leaves
- 1/2 raw fennel cut into pieces or a cup of finely chopped spinach or a scoop of green powder
- 10 grams of unsweetened cocoa
- 5 gr of chocolate chips or dark chocolate into small pieces
- sweetener to taste
Blend all the ingredients and drink your purifying smoothie even twice, one glass in the morning and one in the middle of the morning or before lunch. The calories are about 300. If desired, the purifying smoothie is a perfect substitute meal, for example the day after the Christmas holidays or the day before, instead of lunch.
