Donald Trump’s diet? A bad example for everyone
The diet of Donald Trump, the new President of the United States? According to what the newspapers say, he would be a bad example for all of us , as well as his lifestyle, and, although this may seem absurd, it is likely that it will make Americans’ nutrition even worse , but not only. .
In fact, considering that the guidelines on food health are all imported or almost (the famous pyramid of the Mediterranean diet as well as the concept of the Mediterranean diet are American, not Italian, even if they characterize our country like others in the Mediterranean basin), the election of the new President of the United States risks influencing the food trends of an entire West .
It seems catastrophic, but while Michelle Obama tried to engage with food education programs that also included schools and canteens, putting food health at the center of a national debate and expressing concern about the excess sugar and fat typical of the diet American, Trump seems to be following the exact opposite, and he also boasts about it.
Despite what his doctor says, who defines him as one of the healthiest people elected as President (huh?), The new President of the United States is obese, regular alcoholic, sedentary, lover of fast food, bad dormitory(less than five hours a night). As if that weren’t enough, he’s an advocate of chain fast food, and has often praised some of the menu highlights at Mac Donald’s and KFC. And no, we’re not talking about Ceasar Salad, but about huge burgers and mega packs of fried chicken.
In many photos, Trump is portrayed while he is intent on eating very healthy foods: hot dogs, packaged ice cream, mixed fries. He also stated that he does not trust home cooking, preferring the aseptic cleanliness of fast food chains: he is germophobic, and fruits and vegetables do not know what they are.
So Donald Trump’s diet is essentially: the inevitable shot with cigar, lunch and dinner based on fast food or steaks, snacks based on fries, donuts, ice cream. Not even Homer Simpson would go that far.
His business, you say. Well, when you are such an important public figure, for better or for worse you are an example: and that should stop you for a moment before posting yet another hambuger on Instagram , or saying that you love meat when it is beautiful charred. Or let it be known that he threw the bowls of almonds that Obama scattered around the oval room to replace them with bowls of Doritos as snacks (corn chips).
Or, perhaps worst of all, to say that you are a staunch antivaccinist and that, even if you are not a doctor, vaccines have certainly caused autism.
