Motion sickness , or motion sickness, from the Greek kìnetos / movement, is the scientific term to indicate a state of malaise that one feels when traveling by car .
Motion sickness is a disorder  that occurs when the vestibular apparatus in the ear that regulates balance is excessively stimulated due to the movement of the car. The vestibular apparatus consists of 3 channels, oriented according to the three directions of space, which are filled with a liquid that adapts to the movements of the body.
Due to the movements of the car, accelerations and decelerations, the vestibular system is stimulated too much to involve the vomiting centers causing the symptoms of motion sickness.

The main symptoms of motion sickness are:Â nausea, hypersalivation, vomiting, abdominal pain.
This symptomatology can be more or less serious depending on the subject. Animals suffer from these ailments quite frequently, even on short journeys. Some are so sick that they involuntarily defecate and urinate.

To combat the ailments caused by car sickness in dogs, a very effective help comes from nature: ginger . In fact, ginger has a powerful antiemetic , carminative, absorbent, hypocholesterolemic and hepatoprotective activity.
The action of ginger is expressed at the gastrointestinal level without repercussions on the central nervous system. Due to these characteristics, ginger is an excellent medicinal plant to combat motion sickness in dogs, in which it is able to effectively prevent vomiting , hyper production of saliva and any state of restlessness associated with nausea.
Ginger is to be given to the dog in the form of a dry extract , because it has a noticeable spicy note when fresh. The dosage ranges from 25 mg (for small dogs) to 75 mg (large dogs) as needed, approximately half an hour before departure and every 2-3 hours during the trip.
