Does Vitamin D Help You Lose Weight?
Supplementing our diet with vitamin D could help us lose weight, while a deficiency of it would make us gain weight.
The study underlying this discovery is Italian  and in fact involves the team of researchers of Dr. Luisella Vigna of the University of Milan.
By dividing obese people into 3 observation groups, the researchers found that those who took vitamin D supplements lost more weight on a diet than those who did not.
Good news, then.
It would be enough to take vitamin D to lose weight more easily. In reality this is not really the case.
DOES VITAMIN D MAKE YOU LOSE LOSS?
In fact, other studies have shown that the use of vitamin D supplements does not make you lose weight, while a lack of vitamin D is a phenomenon linked to greater obesity.
According to other researchers, the reason why these studies linking obesity to vitamin D come to mixed results is that the vitamin supplement may not work. On the contrary, taking vitamin D from food and sun exposure yes.
You may ask: but why vitamin D? If in general a deficiency of vitamins and minerals worsens our health, a deficiency of calcium and vitamin D causes a weakening of the immune defenses, of the skeletal and muscular system. Three things closely related to slow metabolism as I explained in this article on how vitamin D works.
So while it is true that a lack of vitamin D is linked to being overweight, it is also true that a natural dietary supplement of vitamin D works more than artificial supplements. How?
Changing your diet is ONE (yes, only one) fundamental thing in your lifestyle.
If you are overweight, try these two changes.
