Does Garcinia Cambogia make you lose weight?

Does Garcinia Cambogia make you lose weight?

I have already talked enough about weight loss supplements, indeed, natural adjuvants for weight loss, which work, strangely, only if you follow a diet and never alone.

Today we are talking about Garcinia Cambogia.
Does Garcinia Cambogia make you lose weight?
What do scientific studies say about it?
Let’s see it together.

LA GARCINIA CAMBODIA DOES YOU LOSE WEIGHT?

As we also see in this advertisement , Garcinia Cambogia would make losing weight effortlessly.
This means that according to the Garcinia supplement manufacturers, I eat as usual, take Garcinia and my pounds pack their stuff and take away the ailment. Right?

Unfortunately, between what the advertisements tell and the real data there is a sea in between.

In fact, clinical studies have found in most cases Garcinia Cambogia inefficient , a plant whose fruit peel is supposed to promote weight loss, due to a substance, hydroxycitic acid.
Let’s see them together.

A meta-analysis of all the studies done on Garcinia Cambogia revealed that, on average, in those where weight loss occurred, with one and a half grams of Garcinia, people lost 800 grams in about 8 weeks. So less than a kilo in two months. The person who conducted the meta-analysis clearly explains that the studies analyzed were not conducted with scientific criteria: some data of the participants were missing, or there was no idea what they ate.

However, there has been some promising data. But here the Garcinia was not hired alone.

GARCINIA CAMBODIA: DOES NOT LOSE ALONE

Let’s see a later study, from 2018. Here the participants took Garcinia along with a glucomannan supplement.
However, the same researchers point out that other studies with this same combination have not had the same results, and speculate that it is for the type of glucomannan used.
The thing is already starting to get complicated.
However, in the study they used 500 mg of Garcinia with 54% hydroxycitric acid and 500 mg of glucomannan extract with over 94% konjac root, twice a day, half an hour before lunch and dinner.

This combination lost 14% of the weight in about 200 participants. Let’s put 100 kilos of initial weight to understand each other. It means you have lost 14 kilos in 3 months.

However, the participants were selected with very strict criteria: yes, overweight, but without significant pathologies, non-smokers, and they were advised to avoid alcohol and do some physical activity.

A similar therapy can therefore be proposed to the doctor, but it should not be done on one’s own mind. First of all because as I said, the researchers avoided any previous health complications, and this may not be the case with most obese or grossly overweight people.
Second, because this combination can cause skin rashes, abdominal pain, liver problems.

So be careful not to try DIY. It could be very dangerous.
