Diet of the blood group, of Dr. Mozzi and so on
In recent times, many have written to me asking me for information on the diet of the blood group, which in Italy is going crazy also thanks to one of its major supporters, Dr. Mozzi. As in the case of Dr. Lemme, even with Dr. Mozzi we are faced with a “character” who puts forward a method that science has largely denied. So much so that the blood type diet outside Italy has lost credibility for years, here we talk about it precisely because it is Mozzi who carries it out.
Since you often ask me if there are studies that have disproved the validity of the blood type diet, I list a few here.
It has been known for some time that people with certain blood types are more or less predisposed to developing certain diseases, but with nutrition they have very little to see.
One study followed the Type A diet to a generic sample of people and found that everyone, regardless of their blood type, had benefits. The reason is simple . The diet for type A involves a greater consumption of vegetables. The same thing did not happen with the diet of group B or 0, even when followed by people with that blood type B or 0.
In 2013 , an important meta -analysis collected hundreds of studies that dealt with the blood group / diet link, finding this link unreliable ( there is no evidence at present that validates the beneficial assumptions of blood group diets ).
Have there been any studies that have found correlations between blood type and diet? Yes, but on very small study samples, and coming up with opposite results to those of the blood type diet , like this study , where it clearly explains that people with blood type A shouldn’t eat beans, nuts and vegetables. In Dr. Mozzi’s diet, blood type A is vegetarian.
