Cumin seed tea helps you lose weight
How to reduce hunger? This decoction based on cumin seeds, taken half an hour before meals, can be a valid help to reduce appetite: more than one study has in fact shown that an aqueous extract based on cumin seeds drastically reduces the sense of hunger, as I report here.
Together with ginger, cinnamon, turmeric, curry and hot spices , cumin seeds are a spice to be absolutely taken into consideration to improve our diet in a simple way.
But let’s say you don’t know anything about caraway seeds: well, what am I doing here?
Cumin seeds are a spice native to Syria, and come from the cumin plant: they are clear seeds, not to be confused with black cumin, small and very similar in appearance to fennel seeds (which are a little larger), and they lend themselves very well to meat or fish dishes, curries, legumes. They have an intense and slightly spicy flavor, very spicy.
An herbal tea based on cumin seeds is not only deflating, but it greatly improves insulin sensitivity, that is, our sensitivity to foods that stimulate insulin, mainly carbohydrates.
It should be drunk before the meal with more carbohydrates.
Here’s how it is prepared: cumin seeds, which we can find in herbalist’s shops or organic shops, are cooked in the dose of one teaspoon / one tablespoon of seeds per serving, boiling them in a glass of water for a period of time ranging from ten to twenty minutes.
We can sweeten the herbal tea obtained with honey, but it is better to drink it without sweetening it.
For greater digestive effectiveness, we can dilute a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar in the glass.
If we suffer from a swollen stomach, we can instead make a decoction of a teaspoon of cumin seeds and one of fennel seeds and drink it before a meal.
