Coconut oil: miracle food?

Coconut oil: miracle food?

CoconutOil-660x443I’ve been reading tons of articles and a couple of books on coconut oil lately. Despite the fact that its popularity has always grown, the first truly great book that explained the benefits of coconut oil in diet and personal care to the general public was “The Coconut Oil Miracle” by Bruce Fife. Fife is a naturopath who has spent years researching coconut oil, and has created the Coconut Reasearch Center to spread the merits and merits of coconut oil and other tropical fruits (for example, papaya, another precious fruit). His book, The Cononut Oil Miracle is currently in its fifth edition, and you will find only positive reviews

I myself, starting from my usual and salvific skepticism (I hate food dogma), I started from consuming coconut oil occasionally to consuming it every day. Personally I have only benefited from it and the only drawback of coconut oil remains the price, from five to six euros. I eat at least two tablespoons a day (often cooking vegetables) and sometimes I use it as a lip balm, or to massage my face. I don’t know where to start to tell you about its advantages : much brighter skin, less or no hunger for sweets, immediate satiety, faster metabolism, faster digestion, much more energy.
Of course I don’t “sponsor” it, but there are a few points I would like to make with you about coconut oil .
– coconut oil is a saturated fat, with a very low degree of perishability: it does not go rancid, tends not to smoke when you cook it, that is, it keeps its molecular structure intact and does not develop bad substances with heat.
– you may wonder why, if it is a saturated fat, it is good for your health . By researching saturated fats, I have discovered that they play a fundamental role in metabolism and cellular health. Many studies correlating saturated fat consumption with cardiovascular health problems have been revised or refuted in recent years. Although the American Heart Association recommends limiting its consumption anyway, a study reported in the Annals of Internal Medicine, among many others, found that the evidence gathered did not establish a correlation between saturated fat and cardiovascular disease, which would therefore be unfounded. Similarly, the correlation between polyunsaturated fatty acids (omega6 and 3) and cardiovascular disease, with the beneficial action of the former, is also unfounded. Another very important study was this.  – not only the endocrinologist Ray Peat or  the Weston A. Price Foundation , but also many other researchers have long declared that saturated fats are good for the body , and even for heart health, whereas American companies would have been, indeed, the corporations, to pilot and finance opposing studies, for example for

push the consumption of margarine and unhealthy vegetable oils, including soybean oil, palm oil, sunflower and peanut oils, rapeseed oil . Even if we don’t buy margarine, these oils are present in 80% of the things we eat.
– an experiment is known that a farmer made in the Thirties, who wanted to fatten his pigs: he tried putting a lot of coconut oil in the food, but after a few months he noticed that the pigs were more lively and visibly thinner. At that point he tried corn oil, and eliminated coconut oil. The pigs got fat.
– coconut oil therefore has incredible benefits on metabolism, basal temperature, intestinal regularity, blood oxygenation, cell integrity, but above allraises the immune system and limits oxidative stress . Give it a try and start using it a little at a time, like a teaspoon twice a day. You will have less constipation problems, you will feel more energetic, less hungry.

Of course, as usual, I invite you not to take at face value neither what I say nor what you find on the internet, but I ask you and I urge you to inform yourself and continue to do so for your health and your ideal weight.
