Chris Powell’s three-day program
Hosted by Dr. Oz, on the Dr. Oz Show, the famous personal trainer Chris Powell explained how to defeat the craving for sweets and nervous hunger attacks with a strategy that I had already anticipated in this article . Chris Powell, also known in Italy thanks to The Biggest Loser program, explained in transmission that it is normal to have a craving for sweets, something that happens “to anyone with a brain”: in fact, whenever our body lacks energy, the first type of hunger that is felt is a hunger for sugars, or carbohydrates, be they pizza or biscuits; but also an emotional or anxious hunger always starts from the brain, and even in this case, the use of sugars is “compensatory”. In this case, it is not a sign of hunger, and for this reason, eating a chicken breast will not be enough to pass the desire for cake or pizza.
In short, let’s go in search of the so-called “comfort food “: food that satisfies us, makes us feel good, or rather, nourishes not our body, but our emotions. This is obviously the most insidious hunger.
But how to fight it? Here are Chris Powell’s tips for limiting continued sugar cravings.
CHRIS POWELL’S 3-DAY PROGRAM
– First of all, it is better to clean the pantry of foods with a high palatability index ( if you don’t know what they are click here, where I explain it ): no packaged snacks, snacks, nothing industrial. Focus on 100 percent natural food. Have at home, for example, ripe fruit, extra dark chocolate, raw vegetables in strips. More natural foods cause fewer spikes in blood sugar and therefore in insulin than industrial snacks, often loaded with sugar.Â
