Carnival sweets, how to eat them without getting fat
The calories in carnival sweets are enormous, more or less like the calories in all sweets.
There is no need for a dietician to know that for every typical dessert, from damselfish to chiacchiere or frappe to pancakes, we must consider 500 and pass calories to dessert (every hundred grams: in particular pancakes and damselfish are “heavy” and if eat one hundred grams like nothing), among other things all calories of granulated sugar, powdered sugar, honey and above all fat.
In short, carnival sweets give us about 7/800 calories for an average portion, or a taste of “mixed things”: how can we do to enjoy these sweets and avoid gaining weight?

Here are some last-minute tips to not miss the like king of the carnival.
1. Choose only one or two moments during the carnival week to be able to eat carnival sweets peacefully: for example on Friday and Mardi Gras, or on Sunday and Tuesday. In short, do not make a continuous and daily sgarro for the whole carnival period!
2. Do you love chatter or frappe? Remove the excess icing sugar by simply whisking it away lightly. With this nonsense alone, you save yourself about sixty and more calories of sugar.
3. Obviously, the baked version would be preferred, but once you commit the sin you might as well do it right , and this is also my philosophy. But if you are the type of constant cravings, I recommend you to try these light Carnival recipes . They are bomb proof.
4. Eat carnival sweets on the street , for example by taking them from the pastry shop or bakery and consuming them while walking. Better not to keep them in the house at hand.
5. The eating of carnival sweets must be compensated .
Better to taste these desserts in the morning or at lunch, as I said maybe while walking, and at lunch keep light with a lunch based on minestrone or other vegetable soup, or skip the first carbohydrate for a second Sunday based on proteins. Baked fish with vegetable side dishes or roast beef always with vegetables, or even a soup made with legumes only. In this way, the excess of sugar and fat in carnival sweets is compensated for by the protein and vegetable meal.
