Breakfast in the diet, the confusing study
Weight loss has nothing to do with deciding to eat breakfast or not . This is what a study establishes, according to which those who go on a diet can decide whether or not to skip breakfast, without major health benefits if they decide to do it, contrary to those who claim that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. In reality, the study highlights a sensational fact , according to which it is not true that having breakfast or not makes no difference. In fact, the group of volunteers, about three hundred, involved in the research of the University of Alabama , had a diet that, with the same daily calories, gave the same results for all, but they did not, by their own admission, have taken into consideration the physical activity done during the study period.
When they examined it, they noticed that:
– if you did physical activity, those who ate breakfast tended to burn more calories than those who skipped
it – if you considered the subjects from the point of view of greater or less activity, the most active were those who ate breakfast.Â
If we consider that in a correct lifestyle, exercising is necessary to stay fit, to have an efficient metabolism, etc., this study indirectly suggests that breakfast helps to burn more energy and be more active.
