Beer promotes good cholesterol
News that will amaze some of you, and indeed amaze me too.
It seems that drinking about a glass (160 ml) of beer per meal increases the good cholesterol , therefore consequently reduces the bad.
A Chinese research by Pennsylvania State University , conducted by Professor Huang and presented at the American Heart Association’s Scientific Sessions 2016 in New Orleans, analyzed the lifestyle of eighty thousand Chinese adults aged 50 or under.
The sample was split into five groups after passing a series of selection criteria.
Since 2006, all groups have seen a decrease in good cholesterol, apart from the moderate beer drinker group.
In particular, the researchers associated the consumption of a small beer per day (33 cl) with higher levels of good cholesterol (half a serving for women).
In short, not all beer comes to harm, but as with everything, it is the excess that does harm.
If, on the other hand, we limit ourselves to a small beer a day if we are men and half a day if we are women , we can have antioxidant, intestinal and immune benefits.
The reason? Hops contain an antioxidant, xanthumol , a flavoinoid that has a positive action on cholesterol but also on blood sugar, reducing it.
