Bach flowers for weight loss: do they work?
In my humble opinion, the same argument can be made for Bach flowers as for remedies such as acupuncture or hypnosis for weight loss: for some it works, for others it doesn’t. For people who are already comfortable with homeopathic remedies and phytotherapy, Bach flowers can actually help with weight loss, in particular by acting on nervous hunger, hunger pangs, addiction.from food caused by stress. These are the areas of interest in which flower therapy can actually be effective, but if you are “allergic” to natural remedies and believe that Bach is the composer, you have tried something in the past but you have “heard nothing”, then most likely it is not this is the method that will make you lose weight, despite the enthusiasm of your friend or the recommendations you read on the various internet pages.
The reason? Pay attention to it. In fact, flower therapy acts on moods and therefore on our emotional part , trying to help us rebalance it: which also has a great weight on weight loss, but not for everyone. All the people I have heard using Bach flowers to lose weight had gone to a naturopath who, surprise surprise, prescribed them a weight loss diet, with lots of “this yes this no” foods. Too bad that the dietitian or in any case a doctor prescribes the weight loss diet (I mean: one with a degree in medicine, not a doctor X), and then the nutritionist or even the dietician can draw it up for you on a medical prescription. In short, Bach flowers alone can be an adjuvant:more or less effective depending on how much flower therapy has already helped us in the past and depending on whether our relationship with food is actually emotional. If we have to lose weight because our lifestyle is wrong, between diet and inactivity, there is no flower to keep.
So if we are not new to homeopathic or phytotherapeutic remedies, and we also want to try flower therapy , let’s try to downsize the effectiveness of Bach flowers and see if they can help us manage depressive states, nervous hunger and hunger pangs. For example, this “blend n.51” by Tom Vermeersch, a psychologist expert in Bach flowers,
has a lot of fame . But if we don’t want to order online and be on the safe side by buying locally, the flowers to focus on are Cherry Plum, Heather, Wild Oat, Vervain and Impatiens (for those who have anxieties and suffer from nervous hunger) or Agreemony and Crab Apple for those instead it also seeks a detoxifying action.
