American donuts or donuts, the light recipe!
It’s called Junk Good, the program that on Real Time reviews the recipes we love (but which are actually too full of sugars and fats, so much so as to call them “junk food”) in a healthy and harmless way for the line.
If you do not follow the transmission, conducted by the good Giulia Sbernini, which explains the recipes step by step, today I propose one, taken from this program: the recipe for American donuts or donuts. Yes, the American Homer Simpson-style donuts, which we often also find in bars, but with their glazes and that “fried” air, they don’t seem very healthy and tempting to us. And in fact, the American donuts or donuts that we now see so frequently in coffee shops are often prepared, pre-cooked and then frozen. At the bar they just have to defrost them and that’s it. With this recipe, on the other hand, we can make homemade and genuine American donuts!
Why not give it a try?
Here is the recipe:
ingredients (for 6 American donuts)
250 gr wholemeal flour
250 gr ricotta
200 gr wholemeal cane sugar
3 eggs
100 gr dark chocolate to decorate
1 sachet of baking powder
PROCEDURE
Mix the yeast and flour in a bowl. In another bowl, whip the whole eggs with the sugar, then stir in the sifted ricotta, then gradually the mixture of flour and yeast. Mix well. Pour the mixture into a pan with donut-shaped molds, the non-stick ones. Bake in the oven at 180 degrees for half an hour. Let them cool well and turn them out.
Melt the dark chocolate in a double boiler and cover the top of each donut. Personalized to taste with chopped hazelnuts, pistachios or grated coconut, put them on a grid for the chocolate to solidify and voila, your American donuts are ready! Click here for the video recipe.
