Personally I am against detox regimes, but if you want to lose weight without undermining your health, a paleo or “real food” approach does not hurt compared to the usual detox programs that offer liquid diets and soups, especially since the programs are short-term and the book offers many other foods to nourish and provide the body with all the necessary macro and micronutrients. In addition, it teaches us not to have a break in eating the right fats, which are still demonized today, and to cleanse our kitchen of all the foods that we are not able to digest well. All in ten simple “steps” or steps.
Unlike what I read in the Italian newspapers, Dr. Amelia Freer’s diet is not vegan ( she shows the chicken in her fridge ), but gluten free, dairy free and without red meats: we eat legumes, fruit, vegetables, gluten-free whole grains such as rice and quinoa, free-range poultry and organic eggs, natural sugars (such as honey). It is a real food diet , so it is a diet that bans all artificial foods, substitutes and industrial products.
