Alli Orlistat, safe for the FDA, is back on the market
The famous pill Alli, an over-the-counter drug based on Orlistat / tetrahydrolipostatin and used as an obesity pill, has had a stormy history since it was released and since the beginning of 2014 it was the subject of yet another investigation of the Food and Drug Administration, which, although not having caused the effective withdrawal from European trade, had sanctioned its unavailability. Those looking for this drug for weight loss in the pharmacy could not find it, and it was impossible to order it on the internet: this well-known weight loss drug is in fact famous for effectively reducing the absorption of fats up to 25% of the quantity taken in meals and if associated with a Low calorie diet helps you lose weight more than with other diet pills. In short: not really a miracle drug since the diet must be there anyway, but thanks to the fact that it was an over-the-counter drug and therefore can be ordered without a prescription, Alli Orlistat has always made a lot of talk about itself, especially considering that its popularity was associated with the contrary opinions on its side effects, which although rare were serious and in some cases very serious. In fact, contraindications include risks of damage to the digestive system, kidney and liver damage and more serious long-term effects. So for some years the FDA had opened investigations on some drugs including Alli, which for these reasons had been withdrawn from the market on several occasions. Most recently in 2014 due to doubts about its effectiveness in relation to side effects, prohibiting its online trade, in the United States and some countries, and in fact its availability in pharmacies, including Italian ones. Now Alli Orlistat is officially cleared of customs (with no changes whatsoever) and will soon be back on pharmacy shelves: the FDA is promoting it for the umpteenth time as an effective weight loss drug. But be careful: effective is one thing, harmless another.
