Adele’s diet

Adele’s diet

Have you seen singer Adele’s incredible weight loss?
I was perhaps one of the few to think that, despite being overweight, the singer did not need to lose weight for the image, but at the limit for a matter of health.

The combination of overweight and health is often simplified by the media.
Being overweight doesn’t necessarily lead to poor health.

While this definition originates from a complex discourse, saying that “obesity is a disease” is almost always true .
In the case of Adele’s diet, pressure from fans and detractors unfortunately played a role in her choice to lose weight.

ADELE’S DIET: LOSS FOR FAT SHAMING?

Adele appears to have lost weight to improve her health.
But after the fierce criticism she has had for years about her looks, she’s not sure she went on a diet simply because she needed it.

From Joan Rivers to Karl Lagerfield , criticism of Adele’s physique has always been heavy, and definitely out of place.

If a singer has to feel compelled to make constant statements about her weight, she becomes an example that women have a long way to go to be accepted regardless of their ideal weight

As if that weren’t enough, the singer’s photos were targeted by the Thinner Beauty campaign , which recently raised a fuss of criticism. Oversized photos of celebrities and photos of mere mortals whose graces have been reduced with photoshop, and the statement  “Thinner is more beautiful”.

That said, it’s the type of diet that Adele chose that baffles me .
Adele in fact would have lost 30 kilos a little at a time, starting last year, after her pregnancy.

What happened to her is called “Fat Shaming” in English, meaning inducing someone overweight to feel ashamed of their body.
And this new fashion of fat shaming will ruin us.
It will ruin both thin and fat people.

On the Huffington was published the story of blogger Ravinshly (Joni Edelman), who had traveled around the world and from her blog went to newspapers. I knew the story before: read it, this is it.

Ravinshly is an American mother who, with a diet of a thousand calories and many sacrifices, had built a “fairytale body”
 .

But the constant food restriction, the grueling sessions in the gym and the obsession with the perfect body had made her a miserable person.

His before and after photos are opposite to what we are used to seeing. First she is a girl with a toned and thin body, after she is the fattest girl in the group photo.

But now, though fatter, Ravinshly doesn’t care about her weight, and is happy to enjoy the food and company of family members.
