Are these herbs really harmful in pregnancy?
Hello, I kindly need clarification. I take, and have taken in the past, regularly the laxative tablets of “The ten herbs” of ESI spa. Researching a bit, I discover that some of the herbs contained in the mixture, including, cascara sagrada, aloe, fennel, senna, licorice, dandelion, rhubarb, horehound (for a total of 320 mg), are dangerous and should be avoided in pregnancy. Unfortunately, however, this is not indicated on the label! I would like to ask how serious it can be! And how much the quantities can interfere with pregnancy causing spontaneous abortions. Thanks for the reply.

Hello Esther, I believe that the question can be addressed to the action that these laxative tablets act on the body of a woman in wonderful transformation. What is established between her and her son is a deep bond and an interconnection without filters and barriers. Whatever she takes is processed and sent as nourishment to her baby, so it is better to prefer foods eaten in physiological doses. I hope I have helped her. With cordiality, Dr. Rosa Flocco – Nutritionist Biologist and Neurobiologist, expert in Functional and Integrated Medicine.
Dearest, if your problem is to stimulate your intestines to normal physiological functions, whether or not you are pregnant, the product you mentioned should be avoided. Given the delicacy of your condition, get advice from a good naturopath or homeopathic doctor in the area where you live. there are valid remedies, sweeter and harmless. The ten herbs, especially if taken continuously, worsen intestinal laziness and can cause a “paralysis of the anus” (episodes that really happened). There are many solution solutions: how to contact a reflexologist, practice yogic breathing that helps intestinal peristalsis. Ask your gynecological osteopath for advice and include, if your health permits, daily walks and a diet rich in fiber and liquids.
