When it comes to gaming on PC, the possibilities are almost endless: in fact, if we take into consideration Desktop computers (the most suitable for this kind of use), we are faced with a multitude of different choices that vary from customized computers, created by choosing upstream the various construction components, up to the pre-assembled, machines with a configuration already set by the manufacturer that allow easy use of the product. The small and elegant Acer Nitro 50 is part of this second category of products and we at Game Legends have analyzed it thoroughly. How did this Desktop PC behave? Let’s go and find out!

Packaging

The Acer Nitro 50 is contained inside a classic standard box without too many frills, which however allows you to contain the computer in an adequately safe way, thus protecting it from any damage due to accidental bumps. Inside the PC is ready to use and, in addition to the power cable, Acer has also inserted a mouse and a keyboard: due to their low quality, these two peripherals are unsuitable for use by a gamer. long-standing, but still allow you to use the computer right away.Acer Nitro N50-600-UD13

Design

The Acer Nitro 50 is small in size, but its design is quite attractive . The plastic used for the construction of this case is certainly of good workmanship and in fact immediately returns a certain resistance and solidity at a glance . On the front we find the word Acer highlighted by two red LEDs and a DVD burner is placed in a vertical position underneath. On the sides, on the other hand, there are two red grids that have the very important and vital function of air intakes, mandatory to ensure the right flow of air necessary to cool the internal components. Furthermore, under the right grille there is a card reader, two USB ports and the various audio jack inputs to connect any headphones and microphones.Going to view the Nitro 50 inside it is clear how Acer has studied a functional design for this PC : the internal components are in fact perfectly wedged together, thus allowing compact dimensions despite a respectable hardware. On the other hand, this compressed configuration does not make the maintenance of some components functional, thus making the upgrade procedure of this machine difficult.

Performance

The Acer Nitro 50 is equipped with an Intel Core i7 8700 processor, an excellent CPU that can handle heavy loads without overheating, but the same cannot be said of the video card present in this configuration. The Nvidia GTX 1060 in fact, probably due to the reduced space dedicated to the ventilation of the components, tends to overheat quickly and, although it always remains below critical temperatures, prevents the gamer from overclocking it. Positive note of this machine is its silence , in fact even at full speed this computer maintains an adequate and never annoying noise level. Analyzing the product from the gaming side, this computer allows you to play without limitations in Full HD, but it begins to give way when we move to higher resolutions such as 1440P : in fact maintaining a frame rate above 50 FPS at this resolution will force us in most cases to compromise with the graphics settings.

Price

The Acer Nitro 50 , in the configuration entrusted to us, can be purchased for 1,599.00 euros , and drops to around 1,100 in its less performing configuration. We are therefore faced with a product that is certainly not cheap , especially in relation to performance, but suitable for those who do not want to try their hand at assembling a PC or who prefer a small machine capable of running their favorite video games.
