In addition to the presentation of the new iPad, those of Apple would be working on a new project that is not particularly cheap. In fact, an anonymous source reported to CNET that the company is working on a project for the creation of a standalone virtual reality viewer. What Apple is working on would be a Head Mounted Display that allows the vision of both virtual and augmented reality, with a very high video quality.

The viewer will in fact have two displays, one for each eye, which will allow you to even reach a resolution of 8K . All this can work independently, without having to connect to a computer or smartphone. It will use proprietary hardware that will connect to a sort of “box” through the use of a 60GHz WiGig wireless connection. In the aforementioned “box”, there will be a custom Apple 5 nanometer processor, which may be one of the most powerful ever made.

Another very positive thing about this viewer will be the total absence of cameras and sensors, since everything will be inside the viewer itself and in the box, which will be similar to a micro-pc. However, it would not be the first time that Apple has been approached with hardware and software for virtual reality. To be able to know something more about this viewer, we just have to wait for the WWDC 2018 , which will start next June 4th .
