The famous biscuit diet of Dr. Siegal or cookie diet is a diet based on the consumption of a special fiber-rich cookie that is used as a meal replacement.
It is actually a more than thirty year old regimen, since it was developed in 1975. The diet, however, is still in vogue because it is often chosen by people who want to lose weight outside Italy. There is also the official website .
What is the cookie diet.Â
In the biscuit diet, you lose weight by eating only a certain type of biscuit, made with special fibers, with the addition of vitamins and mineral salts. If you eat 9 a day + you have a free meal.
The recipe is from dr. Siegal, a bariatric doctor, and is essentially a secret recipe, which then has many different flavors: with chocolate chips, apple flavor and so on.

The problem would be the price, compared to having them at home.
For 7 days of diet with some diet biscuits bought like the ones I mentioned, it would take about 5 packs, for a weekly expense of about 50-70 euros.
Let me be clear: you cannot diet with other types of biscuits.

The diet cookie menu is simple. Which is the secret of its success, especially for those who spend time away from home.
For breakfast you eat two biscuits plus a drink without sugar or with a sweetener.
For snacks and snacks eat a biscuit plus a tea or coffee without sugar.
At lunch it is repeated as at breakfast: two biscuits.
Another biscuit is provided after dinner and another biscuit can be added at lunch or as an extra meal.
In total, apart from the free meal for the whole day, you eat the special biscuit, for a total, as I said, of 9 biscuits, also according to the recipe that I have proposed.
Obviously, these 9 cookies can also be eaten at different times.
For example breakfast with 3 biscuits, lunch with 4 biscuits, snack with a biscuit and snack with a biscuit. The important thing is not to go beyond 9 biscuits, to then be able to drink herbal teas, tea, coffee, but also vegetable or meat broth (as long as it is oil-free and without residues, then filtered) and all drinks with zero calories.
Next, you can choose to have a 500 calorie meal for dinner if you choose a 1000/1100 calorie diet. Or a 700-calorie meal for dinner if we choose to do a 1250-calorie diet.
This meal must contain at least one protein food of your choice between lean meat, white fish or egg whites for 150 grams or boiled legumes for 150 grams or dairy products for 100 grams (mozzarella or ricotta). You can combine free vegetables with a teaspoon of oil and from 50 to 70 grams of pasta or rice or wholemeal bread. Or, if we want to cut down on carbohydrates, opt for only 200 grams of fruit instead of pasta or rice.
In this way, 5 to 7.5 kilos are lost per month.
The contraindications lie in the method, which is simple, but has the disadvantage of having to eat only cookies throughout the day, except for the free meal.
