Can the Paleo diet be vegetarian?
A curious article that appeared in the Huffington post explains how it is possible even for a vegetarian to do the Paleo diet: it seems impossible to me, since the Paleo diet, as I explain here , has a meat base in its food pyramid, eggs and fish, but above all meat, whose consumption is daily together with fats , while vegetables are reduced to fruit, vegetables, nuts and seeds, at least potatoes and some sporadic legumes. Cereals and starchy foods are banned, as are dairy products, milk and cheeses. How can a vegetarian do the Paleo diet, given these premises? And what Paleo man or woman would that be?
In fact, a vegetarian who followed the Paleo diet would be forced to a poor version of the same, and therefore to a much more penalized diet: no soy, or soy derivatives, only nuts, hazelnuts, dried fruit, oil seeds, eggs, fruit. and vegetables. Then stop. No cereals, legumes and cheeses, no protein derivatives from cereals.
Who would feed themselves like this? The only primary source of protein would be eggs: bingeing on eggs every day doesn’t seem like a brilliant idea, given that doing the Paleo diet is already a smart move, which so far is not proven, not only by science, but not even. from history, with the latest discoveries of Neanderthal man’s diet which also included raw cereals and peas . In short, the Paleo have already been misunderstood, but oh well, it is possible, but not desirable in terms of health, that it then comes to Paleo vegetarianism
