Go on a diet after the holidays according to the dietician
In the American Huffington Post, dietician Abby Langer offers her tips for losing weight after a month of exceptional eating like Christmas. Obviously, the same advice applies to any period of binge eating, be it a summer vacation, a cruise, a series of events and essential dinners. In short, if it is true that the epiphany takes all holidays away, it is also true that there are always opportunities to eat and gain weight accordingly.
But let’s go back to December, the period of terrible holidays: according to this dietician there are five things to do to get back on track immediately, after having exaggerated at the table, to prevent those kilos from settling definitively like a second sweater.
1) Don’t be extreme:start right now to consider the holidays as a way to enjoy food, but not to overdo it at the table all the time, as if there was no tomorrow. It will be much more difficult to get back on track. Better to focus on quality, not overdo it, and then gradually return to healthy habits.
2) Once the holidays are over, throw away or give away the leftovers: the panettone offers will make you want a hearty breakfast even after the holidays. But even no. Same thing for sweets in children’s socks, for the remains of appetizers, for main courses, nougat, pounds of hazelnuts and dried figs. If you can’t portion and freeze, give away chocolates, chocolates, dates and more.
3) Don’t skip meals and don’t get stuck:this thing doesn’t make sense. It is useless to drink the cube broth, and then get tired immediately and binge. Opt for a healthy diet, with fruit and vegetable snacks and balanced meals. It will take you longer to work off, but for sure it will be more reliable weight loss that won’t make you want to binge.
4) Drink more water: to dispose of all the food consumed, the ideal is to drink more water. So increase your water intake between meals, you’ll lose weight faster!
5) No to one hundred percent laziness: holidays are not an excuse not to move at all. Even after lunches and dinners, plan some activities: walks, aerobics sessions even at home and jogging must not be missing!
