Breakfast, why never skip it
Almost two years ago, the American Heart Association published a very interesting study on the health value of breakfast, a study that has recently made a comeback because there are many detractors of breakfast as the “most important meal of the day”: in some nutritional methods you skip it altogether, while it is often advisable to do physical activity on an empty stomach by postponing breakfast to promote weight loss . Nothing more wrong, indeed. Breakfast (i.e. the breakfast that you must have as soon as you get up, within half an hour of waking up) not only promotes weight loss because it increases metabolism, but is even recommended for cardiovascular health. Indeed, it seems that a study conducted since 1992 , byHarvard School of Public Health and conducted on a sample of twenty-six thousand men aged 45 to 82 for over sixteen years, on the correlation between meal frequency and cardiovascular health, found a 27 percent incidence of heart attack in people who skipped the first breakfast , served only by late-night eaters, who are 55 percent more likely to have a heart attack.
In short: healthy meals, at normal times, without snacks at very late hours and fasting for breakfast, can reduce the risk of heart disease. In particular, breakfast is not only important but should never be skipped(at most it must be changed: no to puffed cereals and refined carbohydrates, snacks and packaged biscuits), because fasting after having already fasted during the hours of rest leads to considerable physical stress. Stress that probably damages our heart.
