Juice Plus, here’s what I think
You know, people don’t have time, so they love shortcuts : from this point of view I really don’t know what to answer to those who ask me if products like Juice Plus, or powdered fruit and vegetable supplements with added vitamins  can make you lose weight or can be useful for a balanced diet.
Because, well, if you normally ate the fruits and vegetables you should eat it wouldn’t even occur to you to ask such a question.
But if instead you think of:
1) you don’t love fruit or vegetables
2) bother buying it, preparing it and eating
it At this point you can also spend money and buy similar supplements, but remember one thing : fruit and vegetables in powder and under capsule form is not the same as whole fruit and vegetables and if you think they are the same thing, in my opinion you have a limit in understanding what it means to do a correct and healthy diet, but it is my opinion. And this is always in my opinion a problem, which you can only partially address by paying. In supplements, even those that use powdered fruit and vegetable concentrates, lack the fiber of that fruit and that vegetable. And it’s not just micronutrients that have a bearing on your health: your diet for being lean and healthy is NOT ticking all the boxes under “daily needs” by swallowing a pill. Your diet to be lean and healthy must also include fiber. So we don’t just eat fruits and vegetables for their micronutrients: according to this study , it is a higher percentage of fiber that leads to weight loss.
Okay, but in the meantime, supplements and powders make up for a diet lacking in fruit and vegetables “in abundance”: now, unless you live in Norway, or in other countries where the climatic conditions make it difficult to eat fresh fruit and vegetables , I really don’t understand what it costs you to vary your diet and eat fruit or vegetables at every meal . You don’t have to binge, you have to eat the right food and prefer the local.
But then, did the doctor tell you that in general micronutrients (vitamins and mineral salts) are found only in plant products, apart from vitamin C?
You will find other mineral salts and vitamins in dairy products or cheeses, in meat or fish, in whole grains, legumes, fats and nuts or seeds. For some of these foods, you consume much more than 100 grams per meal: this means that one day you will take more B vitamins, the next day less, but the important thing is that, let’s say in a week, you eat enough of everything, and in various ways, so that on average the needs are met. In fact, a daily requirement is recommended only for water-soluble vitamins, but this does not mean that you have to eat all the fruits and vegetables of the earth every day to get thereÂ
