The tonic to purify the liver and help us lose weight

Every now and then a little help to purify the liver can become a great resource to promote weight loss: you will wonder how it is possible, what does the liver have to do with meat! Well, if you want to lose weight easily there are two things to watch out for: your intestinal health and liver health. The intestine and the liver work hand in hand to allow us to properly assimilate all the nutrients we need and dispose of waste substances , and play a key role in keeping metabolism high and immune defenses high. When the intestines or liver are compromised, the risk is to gain weight easily; when, on the other hand, liver function is optimal and our microbiota is varied, we are undoubtedly even leaner. This is why sometimes taking some herbal tea to purify the liver or eating bitter vegetables (wild chicory) or bitter herbs (dandelions) or even artichokes or asparagus can help us. Same thing for spices like turmeric, herbs like rosemary.

Now, with the approach of parties and events in which there is the prospect of eating a lot, and perhaps eating foods that can be difficult to digest, we must ask ourselves how much these foods can worsen the function of the liver and intestines. I generally use a tonic, especially in the winter months, as the holiday season approaches.
A nice homemade tonic to purify the liver, if we are in a period of overdrafts, in which we will eat elaborately cooked foods, often overcooked, or foods dense in calories, or even smoked or processed foods, can really be a holy hand if we want to stay fit.
Here I give you the recipe for a homemade tonic  that I found on the Casalinga per Passione blog .

It is a simple infusion of watercress. Take some watercress , preferably organic. Wash it very well, with water and baking soda or water and apple cider vinegar. Take the leaves, a couple of generous handfuls, break them up with your hands and put them in a glass container like an ovenproof dish. Pour boiling water over it (boil it!), And let the leaves soak for 15 minutes. Filter the water and drink it before meals. You can get the same thing by boiling asparagus or artichokes , I recommend organic or well cleaned, and filtering the cooking water, and then drinking it about half an hour before meals. The result is guaranteed. You can do this home cure even once a month, or with the approaching of holidays or important culinary appointments!
